Dating an ex from years ago
We would meet once or twice a month for coffee or pho, catch each other up on the latest in each others’ lives, and in general, have a nice, easy-going time. After coffee or dinner, we would go over to each others’ house and watch a movie.
And then show each other silly videos on You Tube…and then play each other our new favorite songs.
Don’t jump right back into your old ways This is someone you have been intimate with in the past, and it may be tempting to have your second date on the couch binge watching But it’s worth it to establish a new relationship pattern rather than rely on the intimacy you already have. Your new “old” relationship will only benefit from it.My advice, however, is to not assume anything about your new/old partner, but to relearn about this person. In your time apart, your ex could have done a multitude of really cool things, like contemplating a new career path, getting really into meditation or become the biggest Chicago Bulls fan in the world. We chugged through the dusk on a B-road in his mother’s battered Mini, swapping stories of our day at school. We laughed about how much we hated Voltaire (we were studying him for French A-level), and decided to pop into town to buy the Eagles’ Hotel California album we both wanted.
